Have you met with your representative or Senator?
One thing we hear from a lot of folks is that when they do the representative or Senator doesn’t fully understand the issues being presented.
And it’s understandable.
These people are busy and have a lot coming at them.
But if an issue is so important to you that you want a meeting and they don’t understand the issue - even after it is explained to them - it could be frustrating.
What is a way to end this cycle of frustration?
One way to consider is more people.
More people at your meetings with the elected official.
And more people meeting at other times with the same official on the same talking points.
Humans learn by repetition.
We can’t expect (realistically) that our elected officials will study what we teach them at meetings.
But we can expose it to them again and again so that they end up learning this issue.
This is something that we’ll be working with volunteers on in the coming weeks and months.
More details to follow.
