We are in the days of good news on the medical front.
While the media has largely forgotten Covid-19 and moved on to wall-to-wall coverage of Ukraine good news continues to roll in.
Coronavirus restrictions are being lifted.
Florida announced that the State Health Office will not recommend Covid-19 vaccines for healthy children.
It seems a time for celebration.
And it is a wall of (mostly) good news.
But the truth is we still don’t have medical freedom in Florida.
A lot of folks are on unpaid leave for not taking the jab - right here in Florida.
Some unvaccinated are being treated as second class citizens.
And the State Health Officer is still empowered to force treatments, quarantines, issolations, examinations and testing in public health emergencies.
Some judges have even said there is forced vaccine authority (in a code section that was not addressed in the November, 2021 law changes).
The same laws that haunted folks early in the pandemic remain on the Florida books.
We must keep up the pressure to get Florida to be a (or the) state of medical freedom.
We aren’t there and if we rest the bad laws may come back and haunt us again.
